Vanke Violet: A Modern Chinese Palace Sales Center

Blending Ancient Gardening Techniques with Modern Residential Architecture

Vanke Violet Palace Sales Center, a project of Shanghai ARCHI Interior Design Co., Ltd., is located in Changchun, China. The design, completed in June 2021, covers a total area of 825 square meters. The design team drew inspiration from the bustling villages of China, adopting a simplified design of overlapping, folding beams to remind people of the traditional Chinese lifestyle.

The unique properties of this design lie in its incorporation of ancient gardening techniques with modern residential architecture. The result is a Chinese garden-style work that coexists harmoniously with nature. The choice of materials, including wood veneer, rock slabs, and inkstone, enhances the rustic atmosphere of the space.

One of the key features of the design is the cultural creation area, which highlights the life scene. This space, designed for sustainable use in the later stage, features naturally warm solid wooden tables and chairs, and fresh flower art. The children's area continues the overall atmosphere of the space, with quarters themed around a parent-child book bar, manual area, and aquarium.

The design also faced challenges, particularly in integrating the essence of thousands of years of traditional Chinese culture. The solution was the use of a mortise and tenon structure, which achieves the integrity and transparency of space while showing the Chinese aesthetics. The decoration features the Elegant Pine Shade, a painting by artist Zhao Jing, which elevates the spatial temperament and creates a sense of time travel.

Vanke Violet Palace Sales Center is a testament to the designer's ability to blend traditional and modern elements to create a unique and comfortable space. The design was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2022, a prestigious accolade granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom.
